A teleprompter enables you to look directly into the camera while reading text. It is extremely helpful to enable a spokesperson to relax before the camera and deliver the lines perfectly. Here, with the assistance of my nephew Garrett, we assemble a teleprompter from a piece of leftover plywood and a picture frame purchased for under $10 at the local market.
Step One: Attach two hinges to the pre-drilled picture frame.
Step Two: Attach the frame to the teleprompter mounting board by connecting the hinges to the pre-drilled holes on the mounting board.
Step Three: Attach tripod quick release plate to teleprompter mounting board.
Step Four: Carefully attach the teleprompter mounting board to the tripod.
Step Five: Attach the ball head to the teleprompter mounting board.
Step Six: Attach the ball head quick release plate to the camera.
Step Seven: Insert frame uprights into frame and board.
Step Eight: Insert iPad retainers. Open teleprompter app on iPad and set iPad securely onto teleprompter mounting board.
Step Nine: Attach fabric shade to glass frame and teleprompter mounting board.
Step Ten: Attach the camera to the ball head.
Step Eleven: Insert camera lens through the shade.
Step Twelve: Make video!
